My connection to MDUSD is personal and long-standing. I am a proud parent of four

College Park High School graduates, a 27-year resident of our community, a swim coach

instructor, a Veteran, and a committed advocate for public education. I am running for

the Area 2 seat on the MDUSD School Board because I believe every child deserves a

safe, welcoming, high-quality public school that prepares them for success in college,

careers, and life.

As a student advocate, family support specialist, parent, and volunteer, I have witnessed firsthand the dedication of our teachers, classified staff, administrators, volunteers, and families. As an active participant and leader on multiple school committees and PTAs, I have worked with community members to address local concerns, support student programs, and help ensure family voices are heard. These experiences have reinforced my belief that strong schools are built through collaboration, respect, transparency, and a shared focus on students.

 

Our district must continue to make responsible decisions about its budget while protecting classroom learning, student services, and the people who make our schools work. We must recruit and retain excellent educators and staff, provide meaningful support for student mental health and well-being, maintain safe campuses, and expand access to academic, arts, athletic, career-technical, and enrichment opportunities.

 

As a swim coach and Family Support Specialist, I have witnessed how teamwork, discipline, encouragement, and belonging help young people grow in confidence and resilience. Those same values should guide our school district. Every student should be known, challenged, supported, and given the opportunity to discover their strengths.

 

If elected, I will bring practical experience, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to listening — advocating for transparent governance, sound fiscal stewardship, strong family engagement, and equitable opportunities across Area 2 and the entire district. I am running because I believe in MDUSD, our public schools, and the potential of every student.
