ENDORSEMENT OF DOROTHY WEISENBERGER
MT. DIABLO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION AREA 2
Dorothy Weisenberger is the kind of leader every school district needs: a tireless advocate for students, a trusted partner to families, and a dedicated champion for educational excellence.
I am proud to enthusiastically endorse Dorothy Weisenberger for the Mt. Diablo Unified School District Board of Education.
For more than 25 years, I have had the privilege of knowing and working alongside Dorothy as an advocate, leader and champion for students and families. Throughout her years of service to the Mt. Diablo community, she has consistently kept students and families at the heart of public education. Dorothy firmly believes that every student deserves the opportunity to achieve at high levels and that meaningful engagement is essential to student success.
As a lifelong learner and dedicated advocate, Dorothy has mentored countless parents, empowering them to become informed, proactive partners in their children’s education. She has helped families understand their rights, navigate educational systems, and stay informed about legislation and policies that support students throughout the district. Her commitment to building strong partnerships between schools and families has positively impacted generations of students.
I had the opportunity to work closely with Dorothy when I served as SELPA Director and Assistant Superintendent for Special Education, and she served as Chairperson of the Community Advisory Committee (CAC). Together, we collaborated to expand parent education opportunities, strengthen family engagement, and elevate advocacy efforts on behalf of students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), as well as students in general education. Dorothy’s leadership helped ensure that parents had a strong voice and that student needs remained at the center of our work.
Dorothy is dedicated, energetic, highly knowledgeable, and deeply committed to educational excellence. She brings integrity, experience, and a genuine passion for serving students and families. Her unwavering focus on academic achievement, student engagement, and meaningful family partnerships makes her exceptionally qualified to serve on the Board of Education.
I am confident that Dorothy Weisenberger will be an outstanding member of the Mt. Diablo Unified School District Board of Education and she will continue to be a powerful advocate for all students.
Respectfully,
Mildred D. Browne, Ed.D.
Former SELPA Director and Assistant Superintendent to Special Education
